Our outreach, access and widening participation work

Downing College is committed to encouraging bright students from all backgrounds to apply to university. The goal of our Widening Participation work, therefore, is to provide information, mentorship and guidance in order to widen access to students from a variety of backgrounds. We run a variety of free events to support UK students from Years 7 through to Year 13, from online webinars and programmes to in-person visits. 

Advice and guidance are also extended to parents, guardians and teachers to provide up-to-date information on supporting young people with their applications to Downing College and the University of Cambridge.
