The biennial Oon International Award and Lecture in Preventative Medicine

On Tuesday 20 November invited guests, students and interested visitors filled Downing College's Howard Theatre where Professor Mihaela van der Schaar gave a fascinating lecture, "Medicine 2.0: Transforming Clinical Practice and Discovery through Machine Learning and Electronic Health Engines."

The lecture was delivered to celebrate the presentation of the Oon Award for Preventative Medicine to Professor van der Schaar, who is the John Humphrey Plummer Professor of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Medicine.

Downing College Master, Alan Bookbinder, is pictured with Gabriel Oon (1958) and Dr Chong Hau Oon (1961) who both attended the lecture, which is given in their father's name. Discover more about the biennial Oon International Award and Lecture in Preventive Medicine.
