Professor Geoffrey Grimmett welcomes Jo Finnie Jones to Downing

In a ceremony in Downing's Senior Common Room on 30 August, Jo Finnie Jones was admitted as a Fellow of Downing College in recognition of her new role as Director of Advancement.  She is pictured here with Professor Geoffrey Grimmett, Master of Downing College.

Jo took up her new role in August and is leading the College's Alumni and Development team as it prepares for the new fundraising campaign.  She joins us following five years as the Head of Major Gifts for the University of St Andrews and prior to that, seven years at the University of Edinburgh working with donors in the UK, Europe, Asia and the US, to secure support for priorities including scholarships, buildings and research.

Jo said "I am delighted to join Downing College and be welcomed into the Fellowship which is an immense honour for me.  I am excited by the possibilities for philanthropy at Downing and look forward to working with my colleagues and our alumni community to seek support which will enhance and strengthen the College in the next phase in its history.”
