It has been announced today that The Right Honourable Sir David Lloyd Jones, alumnus and Honorary Fellow of Downing College, has been appointed to the Supreme Court, along with Lord Justice Briggs and Lady Justice Black.  Baroness Hale will become the first female President of the Supreme Court.

The Right Honourable Sir David Lloyd Jones (Downing 1970) was a Fellow of Downing College from 1975 to 1991 and is currently an Honorary Fellow of the College. He served as a member of the Court of Appeal of England and is a former Chairman of the Law Commission.
