Downing College: Explore the archives

On Friday 8 September Downing College library will open its doors to the public as the College Archive takes part in the ever-popular Open Cambridge programme for the first time.  Visitors will discover three exhibitions in the Maitland Robinson Library exploring the history of Downing College.

The three exhibitions celebrate 300 years since the Founder's Will and the subsequent development of the College as a result of major gifts and fundraising appeals, the early history of Indian students at Downing to coincide with the UK-India 2017 year of culture, celebrating 70 years of Indian independence, and finally, College architect William Wilkins' Grand Tour and its influence on his designs for Downing College.

Drop in to see the exhibitions on Friday 8 September, at the Maitland Robinson Library, Downing College, Regent Street, Cambridge CB2 1DQ.

OPEN: 10am to 12 noon; and 1pm to 5pm.

Free admission.  No need to book.
