The Downing Series features outstanding professional artists in innovative programmes of many musical styles. We are delighted to announce that Cambridge alumnus Tom Lilburn will perform music by George Frideric Handel, Antonio Vivaldi, Roger Quilter, and excerpts of George Benjamin’s Written On Skin.

The performance will take place on Tuesday 28 February (7.30pm) in the Music Room (E Staircase in the West Range).

Tom Lilburn is an English countertenor who recently covered Ottone and Narciso in Handel’s Agrippina for English Touring Opera. In July he graduated from the Master of Performance course at the Royal College of Music, where he was an Ian Evans Lombe Scholar. He is also a Lay Clerk at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, and in April 2021 he was one of four singers at the funeral of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh.

Normal ticket prices are £10 for the public and £5 for students from other colleges. Tickets can be purchased on the door (card only). The event is free to Downing College members on presentation of University card.
