The 14th Oon Lecture
Tuesday 27 February, 6pm
The annual Oon Lecture will be delivered this year by Professor Roger Barker and Professor Malin Parmar. Their lecture will be on "Repairing the brain in Parkinson's Disease - The long and winding road."
In this talk, they will discuss the history of dopamine cell replacement in Parkinson's Disease, what they have learnt, and how this will be used to inform and develop a new stem cell-derived dopamine cell therapy for advancing PD.
Roger Barker is the Professor of Clinical Neuroscience and Honorary Consultant in Neurology at the University of Cambridge and at Addenbrooke's Hospital. He trained at Oxford and London and has been in his current position since 2000, after completing an MRC Clinician Scientist Fellowship.
Malin Palmer is an Associate Professor at Lund University in Sweden and manages a research group that works with translational stem cell biology.
There is no booking required for this event. Downing students, staff and alumni are welcome to attend.
