Students Living Out

The majority of Postgraduate students, and some Undergraduate students, do not live in College accommodation. We hope that students living out feel as much part of the College as those in residence do.

We will always strive to ensure that College facilities are equally available to all members and we hope that those living out will come into College and make full use of them, whether that is for academic purposes, to enjoy the College gardens, or to order take-away from the Buttery.

If you are a postgraduate student living out of College and planning to undertake a period of fieldwork you are strongly advised to determine the attitude of your landlord or host family to the possibility of quarantine prior to making any commitments.

You may order books as usual via the ‘Request & Collect’ service. You will be able to pick these up from the Library portico in the same way that resident students do. On arrival at College, please contact the Porters to gain access to the Domus. You should make your way directly to the Library to collect your books and then leave the Domus by the main gate. Please do not stay on the Domus any longer than is necessary to collect your books.

Request & Collect service instructions.

If you are travelling from outside Cambridge to collect books from the Library please contact the Porters’ Lodge to arrange access.
