The following are available to eligible Downing students:
The Downing Bursary is available to Undergraduates who are experiencing unforeseen financial difficulties and, if Home or EU, have usually applied for the Access to Learning Fund.
Downing Book Grants are available to Undergraduates and Postgraduates who require financial help to pay for books.
This support grant is available to Undergraduates and Postgraduates who require financial help to pay for books, course materials, travel, vacation studies or conference costs.
Travel Fund grants are available to Undergraduates for academic travel, vacation study and other course-related travel. In addition to the Downing College Travel Fund, grants may be awarded from the Christopher Bartram, Hugh Brammer, Hopkins Parry, Bill Willetts or Mays Wild Funds. (The same application form is applicable for all these funds.)
The Graduate Support Fund is available to Postgraduates who are encountering unforeseen financial difficulties and general hardship.
Available to Postgraduates for conference and travel expenses.
All these and further application forms are available from the carousel situated outside the Tutorial Office on B Staircase. Amongst these may be application forms for the following schemes and prizes:
For Undergraduates:
Access to Learning Fund. For Home and EU students who are
experiencing financial difficulties and refunds for Educational Psychologist
tests for Specific Learning Difficulties.
RJ White Prize for an essay in History.
John Treherne Creative Writing Prize Open to all
Undergraduates; submission of poetry, short story or chapter of a novel.
Harrison Prize for Natural Sciences Part II Dissertations.
Pilley Scholarship. Available to leaving undergraduates who
have been academically successful and displayed qualities of leadership in
college team sports.
For Postgraduates:
Access to Learning Fund. For Home and EU students who are
experiencing financial difficulties.
Central Childcare Bursary Scheme.
Postgraduate Printing and Binding Fund.
Oon Khye Beng Ch'hia Tsio Awards. Grants for research in
preventative medicine.
Glynn Jones Scholarships for Business and Management Education.
